Dream Catchers “Around-the-World” Charm String

NBS celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year. Jean Ann Moores from Canada has had a “celebration- style dream” of inviting button lovers from around the world to share in creating the longest, most gorgeous charm/memory string ever using only glass buttons. The button size should be 1/4" to 3/4" for ease of stringing. The color, shape, and age of the glass button is the collector’s choice as well as the number of buttons each person would like to send.  Jean Ann will keep a journal and catalog the contributor’s name, state/province, country and/or Button Club.  (Please include email address or phone number if you would like receipt confirmation.)  Please mail your donation to Jean Ann Moores, 81 Lahay Ave, Orillia, Ontario L3V 7A2, Canada. The charm string with the journal will be auctioned live at the August National Convention in Appleton, Wisconsin with proceeds going to the National Buttons Society. A spontaneous response is sure to add a lot of glitter to NBS’ exciting Diamond Jubilee and prove dreams do come true.

Here is what we have so far for the Around the World Charm String at 1,331 buttons which we estimate is about one third of the way of the finished size.  You will note white pieces of paper sticking up at intervals on the string.  These are counters which are used every 25 buttons to keep track of the number of buttons on the string and definitely will be removed once the stringing of the buttons is completed.  Also note the Around the World carrying case that will be included!
