Company was organized to operate some of the PRR dependencies west of
Pittsburgh and assume control of the rest. Besides the large operating
companies which did not bear the name Pennsylvania, the eastern half was
operated as the Pennsylvania RR while the Pennsylvania Lines took com-
mand west of Pittsburgh. In 1920 the division, which had practically sepa-
rated it into two separa.te railroads, 'was abolished and one management was
directly responsible fcr the whole huge system, for at the same time, the
many operating companies also disappeared from the scene. The various
