                   The button  collectiou belonging  to Miss Adah Bennett was on exhibition
               at  the Suffolk  Museum, Stony Brook,  Long Island during the  month of
               August,  and on Augrist 11th, Covelle Newcomb, author of "The Secret Door"
               spoke to members and friends  of the Metropolitan  Button Club on the sub-
               ject, "The life and art of Kate Greenaway."
               Nerv Jersey
                   The fall  meeting of the New Jersey State Button  Society  wiII be held
               in Tlenton on Octobet'  20th at the Hotel Stacy-Trent.  National  Show  reports
               $'iII be given and tlle pr-ogram  will  be in charge of Mr. George Ertell.
               lndiana
                   Plans are under  rn'ay for a fall rneeting of the State Society to be guests
               of the OId X'ort Button CIub at Fort Wayne. The meeting is scheduled for
               September'23,  in the Chaiter  Box room at the Van Orman  Hotel.

                                           We want to thank the Iarge  number of col-
                                       lectols who have sent their appreciation of the
                                       Blass classilication  which appeared  in  the May
                                       BULLDTIN.  We are pleased  to  know that  so
                                       many of you ale making a complete glass index.
                                       At  valious  picnics  duling  the  summer, your
                                       editor  spohe with quite a few collectors  who had
                                       the project  well under $'ay.
                                           The wliter  has been building  up a library
                                       of pictures  of  glass  buttons  over a long period
                                       of time.  Many collectors have been  extremely
                                       coopelative,  some sending  their entire glass  col-
                                       lections or  lalge  parts thereof for  study and
                                       photographing.  We are deeply appreciative  of
                                     .  this couftesy  and wish to thank in particular the

                   Viviane and George Et'tell will  appear agail  on our  Shorv  programs.
               Their slides will  include related articles in  the field of  art;  the original
               sample  case of colonial buttons  and many buttons  from the world famous
               D'Allemagne  collectiorr.  Mr.  Eltell  purchased  this collection on a  recent
               trip to Flance.  The buttcns, together  with the book plates  from the D'AIle-
               magne volumes (which include  buttons) will  be on exhibition.  Interesting
               old garments  with historical buttons will  also be shown.
                   For one of the request pl'ogt'arns  Show  pictures  of  19b0, and various
               Club  groups will also be shown on the screen.  The splendid  color' fihn,  ,,The
               I\{aking of  a I ,'edgwood  Teapot," will  be used on one of  our  programs.
