The last quarter of the t Bth century produced more beautiful types of
buttons (both in France and England) than any other time in history. Since
she was a style and fashion leader; it would be of great interest to know
what button creations she wore.
At this time she posed for Qainsborough in one of her big ostrich
plumed hats. The rest is history. The button designers took the look from the
famous painting and made her the most perennially popular Pretty Lady on
