A unique Boulton steel stag hunting set depicted with two colors of gold inlay. Steel buttons and jewelry
were very expensive luxury items because of the time consuming hand work required. Even the steel
itself was expensive to manufacture. At the fashionable Parisian shop, Au Petit Dunkerque, owned by
Granchez, Marie Antoinette's jeweler, it was said that steel goods there were more expensive than had
they been made of gold. Shanks are unusual 4-hole low square shaped. Size: 7/S" (22mm)
