Cameo-like: A design standing in sharp relief with a precise clearcut out-
line as thouch carved. Note: A mounting of cameo-like heads should have
the number for this class equated to the number for heads. (9)
Incision: A design seen on the top, flush rvith the surface, when the back-
ground is sunk in sharp relief. (10,11)
intaglio: A design prodluced (as if it were an impression from a cameo) in
clear*relief below the surface (12,13) Note: Incision and intaglio designs
are alike in construction, but difler in appearance. With the intaglio the
depression forms the design. With the incision the part left standing gives
the pattern.
liacy molds: Flat or slishtly convex buttons molded with surface Patterns
of considerable delicacy which resemble the designs found on Clear and
Colored lacy buttons. (14,1"6)
