278 NATIONAL BUTTON BULLETIN September, 1951
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
JUIIIOR, DEPARTMDNT
Why not organize a Junior Button Club for boys and girls in your area?
One teacher has told us that after a recent talk on buttons before school
children, she was approached by thirty of the gt'oup, inquiring how they too,
could become collectors.
A new Junior Division of the National Button Society will shortly be
announced. There'll be national competitions, frequent newsy bulletins.
about Button flpes, and success stories of other junior groups.
Button collecting not only fascinates children but is educational and
proftable as well. Think of the history, the art, the science, the military
lore a study of buttons nurtures.
Organize a small group now in order to be ready for membership in the
I\iational Society. More definite plans will be announced in the next National
Button Society BULLETIN.

WiIl my judges please meet rne in Chicago, October 2nd at 8 o'clock
in the morning. Bring with you a pencil with eraser, magnifying glass,
button measure (Du Bois accepted), May BLTTTON BULLETIN and some
will need a magnet. These articles mentioned are very essential for good
judging. Thank you.
To those who have judged before, you all know the great responsibility
you are assurning, yet at the end of the day, you will have a great satisf'ac-
tion. To those who lrave never judged before, you have a surprise in store
education on buttons-that no book could ever give. We will be a
-an
conscientious group of judges striving so hard to do justice to the many
trays expected to compete this year.
Many wonderful prizes are being given to make entries worthwhile,
and if you do not get a blue ribbon this year, try again. Success has not
always been achieved in the flrst trial.
When this goes to press, I will be on my way to foreign lands to search
for more hidden treasures. When you get your copy, I will be on my way
home with the loot that one always hopes will be the best yet! See you all
.in Chicago in October.
